Livingspring Chapel is a product of vision and a burden given to His servant, Pastor Femi Emmanuel that led him to start the word preachers ministry. It is a burden for soul winning. It started with evangelism, but out of it came the church arm. A point was reached in the then crusade efforts where it was realized that except, there is a platform to establish the souls won, harvest from the field may not be sustained. So, the church arm of this ministry came as a vision to retain and sustain souls that were being won through the crusade efforts of Word Preachers Ministry. The name of the church arm is predicated on Isaiah 41:17-18 ‘The poor and needy search for water, but there is none; their tongues are parched with thirst. But I the Lord will answer them; I the God of Israel, will not forsake them. I will make rivers flow on barren heights, and springs within the valleys. I will turn the desert into pools of water, and the parched ground into springs’. And Psalms 107:35 ‘He turned the desert into pools of water and the parched ground into flowing springs’.
So Livingspring Chapel came out of that burden of refreshing souls from the spring of life-Jesus Christ. So there is a combination of what depict Jesus and the burden to reach out to the dying world. The church was officially inaugurated on Saturday, 18th December, 1993 with a handful of people, and took off in the Parliament Building, Government Secretariat, Ibadan, Oyo state with two major programmes (Sunday Service and Tuesday Bible Study) as a result of restrictions imposed by location and poor commercial transportation on weekends.
As the church began to grow, and entered its third year, the military came in to abort the civil rule on June 22, 1996. There were petitions to the then Military Administrator alleging us of converting the state parliament building into religions house. This eventually led to the exit of the church from the first venue.
The church relocated to Sango, where mighty and supernatural explosions were witnessed through the Prayer Mountain & Taku-Ti-Jesu services. It was from there the church grew and gave birth to several other assemblies both within and outside Nigeria. Two of such are the Livingspring Chapel International Lagos and Livingspring Chapel International, Dominion city assemblies which are now our International and National Headquarters located in Lagos and Ibadan respectively.
Today, the ministry is blessed with a Covenant Home of all Livingspringers Worldwide in the heart of Ibadan city called DOMINION CITY, the venue of our Annual World Lifting Conference.
